The birth of the Floral Handbag
In 1998 from a small piece of land space at their home, Patricia and Alta, both mother and daughter from St. Maarten, sold live plants with beautiful flowers, such as Bougainville, Hibiscus, Roses, Orchids, and Gardenias. Patricia loved waking up every morning to her beautiful garden, while she nourished and talked to them and even gave her favorite plants names, such as Lucky.
That love for flowers soon evolved into a passion for adorning women with a sense of simple sofistication and style with the creation of floral baskets and ladies handbags and marked the genesis of our first silk flowered raffia baskets.
Our floral baskets and ladies handbags were inspired by our garden of flowers. This inspiration continues today and finds expression in our daily creation of some of the Caribbean's most exclusive and exquisite floral baskets and ladies handbags. Once completed they burst into radiant colors.
As the inspiration florished,the reponse was overwhelming as we witnessed the increasing desire for what was now our uniquely handmade signature by Alta floral baskets and ladies handbags which has adorned celebrities and some of the big names is the entertainment industry in the United States. About our Floral Baskets & Ladies Handbags
Our uniquely handmade floral baskets or box purses come in four sizes: mini, small, medium, large. Each of our baskets are made of raffia palm leaves platted to the inside and straw weaved to the outside with hand dyed straw.
The close off lining cloth to the top of each basket is hand signed by us. We never make the same baskets twice, they are all unique just like you. Our baskets and box purses are trendy but elegant, timeless and hip, funky and on the go.
